The train seems really well-made and easily holds my 6-year-old (45 lbs) and my 13-year-old (5 ft, 91 lbs). It did arrive later than expected, but the seller was great about resolving the shipping issue. Their customer service really impressed me, and because of that, I’ll definitely be ordering another one from this seller!

The smokestack is the steering wheel, and when assembling, the bolt hole might be slightly off-center. If you have trouble getting the nut on the bolt, just rotate the steering wheel 180 degrees, and it should line up perfectly. The bolt will slide through easily, and the nut will engage without a problem.

The battery comes partially charged. My grandson took it to the park, rode on the sidewalk, made six trips around the swings, went off-road in the grass, up and down hills, and finally got stuck in the woodchips when he stopped. If he had kept moving, he wouldn’t have gotten stuck. I charged it overnight, and the next day he was back at it—rinse and repeat!

I was really impressed with the battery life. He spent 20 minutes going full speed, and it still had plenty of juice left. The headlight even works as a little flashlight for night rides. The train can handle 16-point turns on the sidewalk like a pro!

Off-road performance wasn’t perfect, but it far exceeded my expectations. The carrying capacity is also better than I expected—both my 3-year-old and 5-year-old can easily fit on the engine. The speed is about a brisk walk when following your little engineer.

The best part? There’s no track for the kids to destroy, lose, or have to replace. This train has been a great investment!

This train is seriously impressive! My 230 lb husband can ride it with both of our kids (3 and 5, about 30 lbs each), and it’s still pretty fast! The kids are a little hesitant to ride it alone, but they love cruising around with their dad. My son is a huge Thomas the Train fan, but all the Thomas ride-ons I found were for babies. I wanted something they could use for years, and this is perfect. My son doesn’t seem to mind that it’s not officially part of the Thomas family—if he’s even noticed at all!
